- Navigate to Library.
- Click on Products.
- Difference between PO Trace and Product Trace: Purchase order trace is tied to a specific order/batch, each time a product is ordered from a supplier, that batch gets its own traceability data, so the same product can have different supplier/traceability info across different purchase orders. Product trace works at the product level with no order/batch involved, it's used when there's no purchase order data, and each new trace simply overwrites the previous data on that product's default traceability, rather than creating a new batch.
- Select the checkbox next to the product you'd like to trace, this adds it to your trace request and starts the Product Trace process. You can select more than one product by checking additional boxes.
- Click the Actions button to start the Product Trace.
- Click Request Trace to create traceability assessment for the selected products.
- If you want to add more products to the Product Trace, simply click + Add More to include additional products.
- Click the plus button to add additional products to your trace request.
- Repeat this process for as many products as you'd like to include.
- Click the Selected tab to view and manage the products you've chosen.
- Click on any product in the list to view its main information.
- Click the Remove Product button if you'd like to remove a product from the Product Trace.
- Click the Continue button to proceed to the next step.
- Click the Supplier dropdown to select which supplier should receive the Product Trace request.
- Any email addresses already saved in the supplier's profile will automatically appear in this list. Select the ones you'd like to send the trace request to.
- Or you can click "+ Add another email to this supplier" to include additional contact addresses.
- Click the Add button to include newly added email to the list.
- Select the Trace - Tier 1 & 2 template so your supplier can provide traceability information for the included products.
- In this section you can review the details about your Product Trace and then click the Send trace request button to submit your trace request to the supplier.
- Once sent, you'll see a yellow 'Trace in progress' label, this confirms the Product Trace was successfully sent to your supplier.
