Complete the Components Step

Learn how to complete the Components step of a trace assessment, adding components, fibre composition, supplier facilities, weights and material certificates.

  1. First, click the Components button to view and manage the product components list.
  2. Here you can check which exact Purchase Order this assessment was sent for.
  3. Following that, select the first product to add its component details.
  4. From here, enter the total product weight in grams.
  5. Next, select a component name from the dropdown list or add a new one.
  6. Following that, enter the weight percentage for the main fabric component composition.
  7. Add a material reference name in the text field to describe the fabric. This field is optional.
  8. After that, click the supplier dropdown to select the supplier's facility location or add a new one.
  9. If the material has a certificate covering it as a whole, for example OEKO-TEX, click Attach certificate. If not, tick No certificate available.
  10. If you have a certificate, click Attach certificate to upload material certifications for this component.
  11. Certificates you've uploaded before appear here, select the one you need and click the Attach certificate button. If it's not listed, switch to the Upload tab to add a new one.
  12. Now, click the Attach certificate button to confirm and add the selected certificate.
  13. If the certificate is not listed, switch to the Upload tab to add a new one.
  14. Next, click the Certificate file field to upload the required certificate document and click on the Attach certificate button.
  15. Next, click the Composition dropdown to select the composition name.
  16. Following that, select the name from the dropdown to specify the composition material.
  17. Enter the composition percentage value in the percentage field.
  18. If you have a material certificate click I have a certificate.
  19. There are two options, you can upload a certificate right away, or you can add it later.
  20. If you have a certificate prepared, click Upload certificate now to submit your material certification documentation.
  21. The certificate can be chosen from the list (if already uploaded previously) or uploaded from your computer.
  22. Afterwards, click the Attach certificate button to confirm and add the selected certificate.
  23. You're at 95%, click Add composition to add the remaining fibre and reach 100%.
  24. Following this, click the Composition field to select a composition.
  25. Then, enter the percentage value for Elastane composition in the designated field.
  26. If you have a certificate for this material but want to add it later in this form, click I have a certificate.
  27. Click Add certificate later.
  28. From here, click the dropdown to select a standard for the selected composition material.
  29. Click the Save standard button to save the material composition standards.
  30. The bar shows 97% and stays orange until the composition reaches 100%. Check your percentages or add the missing fibre.
  31. The bar is green at 100%, this component's composition is complete and you can move on.
  32. Follow the same process for the second component.
  33. If a fibre has no certificate, you can choose Self-declare and describe the claim in your own words.
  34. Then enter your claim in the text field, describing the fibre in your own words.
  35. And then click the Save claim button.
  36. 5% of the product weight is still unassigned. Click Add component to add the next part, until all components together reach 100%.
  37. Fill in the zipper the same way as the previous components.
  38. When all components add up to 100%, you'll see Weights balance, the bill of materials is complete.
  39. If several products share the same facility and composition, you can select them together and fill everything in at once. Select the products by checking the boxes.
  40. Then click Assign facilities & composition to fill in the shared component for both products.
  41. Select an existing component or type a new name to create it.
  42. Then enter the material name in the Material field to describe the fabric.
  43. Click the Composition dropdown to select the fibre.
  44. Enter the percentage value for polyester composition.
  45. Choose how to prove this fibre: attach a certificate, or self-declare if you don't have one.
  46. Select Supplier from the dropdown list.
  47. Following that, select a supplier's facility from the dropdown menu provided or create a new facility.
  48. Afterwards, click Apply to 2 products to confirm and save the facility and composition assignments.
  49. The composition and facility have been applied to both products. Weights aren't part of the bulk action, so add the total product weight and weight % for each product separately, as well as certificates.
  50. Now open the last product that still needs to be completed.
  51. Click Copy BOM from another product to reuse components from a product you've already submitted in a previous assessment, no need to enter them again.
  52. Here you'll find the products you've submitted before, with the number of components each one has. Select a product to see its components on the right.
  53. Tick the components you want to copy. You can select several, and even pick components from more than one product.
  54. From here, click Next to proceed with copying the selected components to the Bill of Materials.
  55. Next, click Apply changes to save your component modifications to the product BOM.
  56. The composition was copied over, but the supplier wasn't. Select the facility, then add the weight and any certificates.
  57. All four products now show a green check and Products reads 4/4, every component is complete, so you can move on to the next section.
