Create a File Supplier Attribute to Upload Documents

Set up a File-type supplier attribute in Settings, mark it as default so it appears on every supplier profile, then upload documents like compliance certificates directly to the suppliers that need them.

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Click the Supplier Attributes tab.
  4. Click the "Add new attribute" button to create a new supplier attribute.
  5. Type an attribute name that will be easily recognisable on the supplier profile.
  6. Select File as the value type for your new attribute. This way, the attribute will be able to hold a file on a supplier profile, which you can easily select from your computer.
  7. Next, click the Submit button to confirm and save the new attribute.
  8. Click the three dots to access options for managing this supplier attribute.
  9. Click Show as default to mark this attribute as the default display. This way, the attribute will appear by default on each supplier profile, and you can upload a file where needed.
  10. Navigate to Supply Chain to manage supplier attributes and configuration settings.
  11. Click Suppliers to access supplier profiles and configuration options.
  12. From here, click on any supplier you'd like to add a file to for the newly created attribute.
  13. Click the Attributes tab to view and edit supplier attributes.
  14. The newly created attribute will appear in the list by default, since we checked that checkbox earlier.
  15. If you want to add a chemical compliance certificate to that specific supplier, click the upload icon to attach a file.
  16. Once attached, click the Save button to save all changes to the supplier profile.
  17. If you want to double-check that the correct chemical compliance certificate was added, click the external link icon to open the document in a new tab.
