Map Product Supply Chain Traceability

Add the suppliers, processes, and facilities behind each order. You can set a default at the parent-product level so it applies to all variants when no order-level data exists.

  1. Navigate to Digital IDs to get an overview of your orders.
  2. Following this, click the Supplier dropdown to filter purchase orders by supplier.
  3. After that, select your supplier from the dropdown list to filter purchase orders by supplier.
  4. From here, click the arrow to view detailed information about the selected batch order.
  5. Click on a product to open it and enter its traceability details.
  6. Note: When editing a variant, any changes made apply only to that specific variant and will not affect other variants of the same parent product.
  7. Click the Traceability tab to review existing traceability steps or to add new ones.
  8. Make sure the correct batch/order is selected before adding steps.
  9. Click "Add first step" to begin mapping the product's traceability journey.
  10. Choose the process from the dropdown to select a production process.
  11. Select the supplier type for this step
  12. Click Choose supplier to assign a supplier to this step.
  13. Next up, click "Choose facility" to select a facility for this supplier.
  14. Then, click the Apply button to save your product traceability changes.
  15. Then, click the Save button to save all changes to the product.
  16. Move on to the next product and repeat the process as needed.
  17. Tip: When multiple variants share the same supplier, for example, several color variants that all use the same fabric supplier, you can assign the supplier at the parent-product level to apply it automatically to all linked variants.
  18. Click on "parent" to navigate to the parent product page.
  19. Click the Traceability tab to view the parent product's supply chain information.
  20. Note: You cannot select a specific order at parent level, since supply chains may differ between variants and their orders.
  21. When adding a traceability step at parent level, you are defining the traceability information that is shared across all variants. You are editing the default traceability setup, meaning that if no traceability step is defined on order level for the variants, this is the information that will be shown.
  22. Follow the same steps as on the variant level to identify the process and assign the supplier and facility.
  23. You have now selected the fabric supplier as the default on parent level. This means that if no traceability data is available from an order, this supplier information will be shown for all variants.
  24. You can now see that the XXL variant has inherited the default supplier from the parent product.
  25. If your supply chain changes for a future order, you will need to manage this at the variant level and select the relevant order
  26. You can now edit traceability steps for the XXL variant and selected order.
  27. When you deselect the batch/order…
  28. You'll see that the default traceability defined at parent level remains in place as the fallback.
