Request digital IDs through the API

Generate digital IDs for a purchase order and print the QR codes yourself, on your own schedule — including replacing a batch a factory misprinted mid-run.

Three endpoints are available, authenticated with an API key. Posting to the purchase-order tags endpoint returns digital IDs with the URL to encode in each QR code. Omitting quantities generates the full production run from the order lines; supplying them generates exactly that number, which is how misprints are replaced.

A read request on the same path lists the IDs already issued for a lot, so a lost response is recoverable without minting a second run. A separate endpoint accepts IDs you generated yourself, grouped by lot. URLs come back as GS1 Digital Links or as ?pid= links, and always point at your consumer domain rather than the API host.

Limits are 20,000 IDs per request and 30 requests per minute per key. Keys carry either generate or write permission, are issued per account and per environment, and the full credential is shown once — a lost key is replaced rather than recovered.

A purchase order must exist for the lot before IDs can be generated against it, and digital IDs a shopper has already claimed keep their product. The admin generation batch and file export remain available.
